What is on Offer

The Northern Creative Network is run by The Northern School of Art as part of its mission to promote teaching and participation in the creative subjects so that there is a secure talent pipeline to meet the needs of a growing and diverse industry. Our network engages with over 1.000 art and design educators and IAG providers in schools and colleges across the north of England (and over 2,500 nationally). The community offers support for the teaching of creative subjects and the understanding of the employment opportunities available to young people in this fast growing and changing sector.

We provide: · CPD sessions and short courses (both online and in-person) · Industry insight events which includes a weekly programme of industry speaker webinars · The Art Teacher Workshop Society – an annual conference · IAG information · Networking platform for both education and creative culture sectors · Masterclasses in techniques and other bespoke services.

TNCN forms part of the School’s wider suite of outreach work. We provide a range of activities and interventions to help school’s enable young people to develop their creative and cultural capital. Many sessions are linked to the Regional Progression Framework and cover the Gatsby Benchmarks Our activities encompass both light-touch and intense levels of engagement.
